Call for applications: Up to five Postdoc Positions in Cluster of Excellence “Transforming Human Rights”, based at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU)

For the funding period 2026-2032, the Cluster seeks to strengthen early-career scholars by recruiting, starting 1 April 2026 or later, up to five Postdoctoral Researchers (f/m/d), full-time (TV-L E13), for three years. There will be additional calls in early 2027 and 2028.

The Cluster examines the potential and limits of human rights and how their norms, institutions, and practices are transformed by five global megatrends: autocratization, planetary environmental crises, migration, fragmented economic globalization, and digitalization.

The Cluster’s Postdoc program is unique both in content and scope providing an environment to unite outstanding talents and to prepare them for human rights careers in academia and praxis. For more information, see here. Within an intellectually stimulating, highly collaborative and international team environment, the postdocs will conduct independent as well as collaborative, conceptually and empirically ambitious research on human rights that aligns with the Cluster’s overall research agenda.
